The Greater Denton Sports Commission is an organization with a mission to stimulate, attract, and promote sports entertainment events and activities in the Greater Denton area.   As a part of our mission, the Sports Commission hosts an annual banquet in which we have given over $35,000 in scholarships away over the last eight years and has become the signature event for our organization.   In order to raise money for our scholarship program we are always looking for new ideas and fundraisers.

This year we again decided to host a 5K Run/1 Mile Walk.    The event starts and ends in the Unicorn Lake Development.  The anticipated attendance is over 500 and is expected to draw from across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and across the state of Texas, but direct advertising would be focused primarily in the Denton County area.

We are currently soliciting potential sponsors to help offset the cost of the event.   All sponsorship dollars will be used to promote the race and logo’s will be prominently displayed on all of the advertisements, websites, t-shirts and promotional material.
